Dr. Dokukin is a Board Certified Physiatrist specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He has a fellowship in both pain medicine and musculoskeletal medicine with a strong background in prosthetics.
After earning his Bachelor of Arts degree from City University of New York Hunter College, he received his medical training at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, where he also completed a year of training in Internal Medicine. He completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Montefiore Medical Center Albert Einstein School of Medicine in the Bronx, New York, where he also served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Dokukin has been involved in prosthetic clinics in both New York and California where he has seen a wide variety of amputee cases. Working closely with Surgeons, Therapists and Prosthetists Dr. Dokukin headed the clinics in determining proper prosthetic care. His strong background in Physical Medicine and Pain Management of the amputee is critical in helping determine the proper componentry that will provide for the best outcome for each individual.
Dr. Dokukin has been called upon to provide expert testimony in legal cases regarding Physical Medicine and Pain Management issues. He is very familiar with the legal system and welcomes any opportunity to assist the legal team.
From his prior career as a professional ballet performer, Dr. Dokukin maintains a special interest in treating dancers, having experienced many of their injuries first hand during his training in the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow and the Julliard School in New York, as well as touring and performing with the American Ballet Theater. Dr. Dokukin’s practice philosophy is simple: He will never give up on treating your pain and return you to the things you love to do.
